Background and Experience

Jordan is a natural figure competitor who has competed in 7 shows, securing 4 overall wins and 2 national top 5 placements. She has been coaching herself for a few years and guiding clients to the stage for 3 years, drawing from her competitive experience to help others achieve their goals.

Coaching Approach

Jordan's approach to contest prep is rooted in progressive structure, athlete health, and precision rather than extremes. She views prep as a long-term performance phase, not a crash diet. Key elements include:

  • Training: Structured to maintain muscle and density while managing fatigue. Volume and intensity are periodized based on experience, recovery, and timeline. Exercises prioritize joint longevity and muscular tension, shifting to a “stimulate, don’t annihilate” mindset as shows approach.

  • Nutrition: Adjusted gradually with moderate calorie reductions, high protein, adequate fats for hormonal support, and carbohydrates manipulated based on feedback. Planned refeeds or higher days maintain metabolic efficiency, performance, and adherence. Peak week is a refinement phase.

  • Cardio: Introduced conservatively, using the least effective dose via steps and low-impact methods to prioritize recovery and muscle retention, avoiding unnecessary extremes.

Stance on Supplements

Jordan takes a minimalist, evidence-based approach to supplementation, using them to support nutrition and recovery rather than replace fundamentals. Core supplements may include:

  • Protein powder (for convenience and consistency)

  • Creatine (for strength, muscle fullness, and performance)

  • Electrolytes/sodium (for hydration, performance, and peak week control)

  • Omega-3s (for inflammation and joint health)

  • Caffeine (as a strategic aid for performance or cardio)

She avoids excessive stacks or fat burners, emphasizing food quality, sleep, hydration, and consistency first.

Handling Challenges Like Injuries, Plateaus, or Hormonal Imbalances

  • Injuries: Proactively managed through exercise selection, volume control, and load management. If an injury occurs, training is modified immediately, prioritizing longevity over forcing sessions.

  • Plateaus: Assessed holistically, evaluating training, stress, sleep, NEAT, recovery, adherence, and digestion before further calorie cuts. Often, strategic increases, refeeds, or deloads are more effective.

  • Hormonal Health: Mindful of hormonal stress, aiming to preserve thyroid function, menstrual health, libido, mood, and wellbeing by avoiding extreme deficits, maintaining fats, and adjusting timelines. Plans are modified if red flags arise, ensuring stage readiness doesn't compromise long-term health.
